Governor Abbott appoints new judge for Hill County

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Justin Lewis as Judge of the 66th Judicial District Court in Hill County. The term for this position is set to expire on December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Justin Lewis, hailing from Aquilla, currently serves as the County Judge of Hill County. His professional affiliations include membership in the State Bar of Texas, Hill County Bar, Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce, and Lake Whitney Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he volunteers with Aquilla 4-H and Hill County Ag Youth. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Development from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan School of Law.

The appointment awaits confirmation by the senate.
