Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments to the Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee, which plays a crucial role in providing recommendations to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. These recommendations pertain to licensure sanctions and rule changes within the Nursing Facility Administrator Licensing Program.

Kimberly Posey, Ph.D., from Trophy Club, is among those appointed. She currently serves as the director of Graduate Nursing and practices as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Texas Christian University. Posey holds leadership positions such as president-elect of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and is involved with several other nursing organizations. Her academic background includes degrees from Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University, and William Carey University.

Regina Franklin from Bedford has also been appointed. She is the director of Long-Term Care Administration at Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus. Franklin's affiliations include memberships in multiple healthcare associations and she holds degrees from Wichita State University, Texas Woman’s University, and Southern Methodist University's Perkins School of Theology.

Carla Smith from Midland has been reappointed to the committee. With a career spanning over two decades at Southwestern Bell Telephone and extensive experience in Christian ministry and community service, Smith brings a wealth of experience to her continued role on the committee.

The terms for these appointees are set to expire on February 1, 2031.
