On March 27, 2025, Rep. Williams expressed his unreserved stance as a car dealer on the use of tariffs in the auto industry by President Trump. He stated, "As a car dealer, I am not fearful of tariffs in the auto industry. @POTUS is using tariffs as a tool to boost domestic production, create jobs, and encourage consumers to buy American-made vehicles." He referred to President Trump's Executive Order as "a win for the American consumer."
On March 28, 2025, Williams shared his approval of a recent decision by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He criticized the Biden Administration's previous approach to financial market regulations, stating, "For the past 4 years, the Biden Administration put politics ahead of the safety of our financial markets and investors." He supported the SEC's choice to halt its defense of certain climate and greenhouse gas rules, calling them "costly and unnecessary."
