Governor Abbott reappoints Kevin Scott to Gulf Coast Authority board

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Kevin Scott to the Gulf Coast Authority Board of Directors. Scott's new term will extend until August 31, 2026. The Gulf Coast Authority is tasked with managing water systems and overseeing pollution control and waste disposal within its jurisdiction. Additionally, it conducts studies and research related to these areas.

Kevin Scott, a resident of Santa Fe, co-owns and serves as a funeral director at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Master of Science in Educational Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a Funeral Director Certification from St. Louis Community College.

The reappointment requires confirmation by the Senate.
