U.S. Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn have opened applications for federal judicial vacancies in several districts across Texas. These positions are available in the Northern, Southern, and Western Districts, specifically located in Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Austin, and Waco. Additionally, they are accepting applications for U.S. Attorney and U.S. Marshal roles in the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts.

Senator Cruz emphasized the significance of selecting qualified lawyers for federal judge positions as part of his senatorial duties. "Texans deserve principled, unwavering leaders who will defend the Constitution," he stated. He expressed confidence that Texas hosts some of the nation's most capable legal professionals.

Echoing this sentiment, Senator Cornyn highlighted his experience as a former judge and Attorney General of Texas to stress the importance of having skilled jurists on the federal bench. He encouraged interested Texans to apply through their review committee.

The senators have set up a Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee (FJEC), comprising leading attorneys from Texas to assist in reviewing applications and interviewing candidates before making recommendations.

Prospective candidates are invited to submit their resumes and completed questionnaires by March 3, 2025. Due to security-related delays with Congressional mail, email submissions are preferred. Completed application packets should be sent to FJEC@cruz.senate.gov or FJEC@cornyn.senate.gov.

Questions about the application process can be directed to Kenneth Lee for Senator Cruz or Franci Rooney Becker for Senator Cornyn.
