U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas has announced that nearly $60 million in federal funds were returned to Texans in 2024. The funds, totaling $56,941,684, included benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, payment assistance for active duty military and retirees, IRS tax refunds, Social Security checks, FEMA assistance, among others. These returns were facilitated by the efforts of Cornyn's constituent services staff.

The announcement follows over 7,700 requests for assistance received by the Senator’s office last year from constituents across Texas.

“As a U.S. Senator, I am honored to serve more than 31 million Texans," said Sen. Cornyn. "One of the most important roles of my office is to help constituents who are encountering challenges interacting with the federal government.”

He added: “In 2024, more than $56 million was returned to constituents, and this significant achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my constituent services team, who work to resolve issues Texans experience with federal agencies and help to connect them with the resources they need.”
