On March 5, 2025, Rep. Roy criticized the pro-sanctuary mayor of Chicago for supporting non-citizens voting in local elections. He emphasized that "Congress MUST work to prevent non-citizens from voting in federal elections" and called for the passage of the #SAVEACT, highlighting this stance in his tweet "The pro-sanctuary mayor of Chicago SUPPORTS non-citizens voting in local elections."
Later that day, on March 5, 2025, he expressed support for worksite enforcement as a means to protect American workers. In his words: "Good. America is NOT a cheap labor market." He stated that such measures help "the forgotten American worker obtain jobs, better wages, and working conditions."
