There were 970 students enrolled in Promesa Public Schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 92.9% of the Promesa Public Schools total enrollment.

Promesa Public Schools roughly covers schools within Travis County with its main office in Austin.

Among the four schools in Promesa Public Schools, Promesa College Prep West Corpus Christi recorded the highest enrollment of 391 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
