U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, who chairs the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, has announced a full committee hearing to be held on April 2, 2025. The session will focus on Boeing's efforts to address production and safety issues following the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 incident last year. Since the incident, Boeing has been under additional safety audits and increased oversight from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Senator Cruz expressed his appreciation for Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg's agreement to testify at the hearing. "I appreciate that Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg has agreed to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee to detail what steps the company has taken to strengthen its commitment to a safety-focused, quality-driven culture," he said. He emphasized that while Boeing is recognized as a great American manufacturer, it is crucial for the public to understand how the company plans to restore its reputation.

The hearing will take place at 10:00 AM EST in Room G-50 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. It will be streamed live on both the Committee Website and YouTube.

Media personnel interested in attending are advised to contact their respective media galleries for RSVP details.
