Governor Abbott appoints three to Texas Tech University System Board

Governor Greg Abbott has made key appointments to the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents. Doug McReaken and Donald R. Sinclair have been appointed, while Dusty Womble has been reappointed. Their terms will expire on January 31, 2031.

Doug McReaken, from Pearland, serves as chief operating officer and executive vice president of Media Riders, Inc. He also holds leadership roles in several other organizations including Sno Country, Inc., Texas Waste Co., and McReaken & Associates. Additionally, he is involved with the Kappa Sigma Texas Tech Southwest Education Fund and volunteers at the Houston Livestock Show and Pearland Lions Club. McReaken is an alumnus of TTU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.

Donald R. Sinclair, based in Houston, is a private investor with four decades of experience in the energy sector. He sits on the board of directors for two energy companies and is active with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors. Sinclair has also been part of TTU's Bob L. Herd Academy of Petroleum Engineering and previously chaired the TTU Rawls College of Business Advisory Council and the Texas Tech Foundation, Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from TTU.

Dusty Womble from Lubbock co-founded Masked Rider Capital and chairs Service Compression, LLC. His past roles include membership on the Rawls Business School Advisory Board and the Texas Tech Foundation Executive Board. Currently, he serves on both the BIG XII Advisory Board and Lubbock Christian School Board. Womble graduated from TTU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and was honored as a distinguished alumni by Rawls College in 2022.

These appointments await confirmation by the Senate.
