Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Brandy Robinson as the Austin County Criminal District Attorney. Her term will expire on December 31, 2026, or when a successor is elected and qualified.

Brandy Robinson, from Sealy, currently serves as the first assistant criminal district attorney in the Austin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. She holds memberships with several professional organizations including the Austin County Bar Association, where she is a former president, the State Bar of Texas, Texas Prosecutors Society, and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association. Additionally, Robinson has held roles such as editorial board chair of The Texas Prosecutor Journal and president of the Austin County Child Advocacy Council. She also contributes to the gospel music ministry at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and English from Texas State University and a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.

The appointment requires confirmation by the Senate.
