Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Aaron Rolen and Jason E. Spencer to the Sulphur River Basin Authority Board of Directors. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2029. The board is tasked with constructing, maintaining, and operating facilities within the state and the watershed of the Sulphur River and its tributaries. This includes managing stormwater and floodwater.

Aaron Rolen from Bogata is an attorney and director at the Basset Firm. He holds memberships in several organizations including the State Bar of Texas and Arkansas Bar Association. Rolen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Dakota Wesleyan University and earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Jason E. Spencer from Avinger serves as president and executive director of Avinger Economic Development Corporation. He is affiliated with The University of Texas Ex-Student Association at Austin. Spencer retired as a Commander after 23 years in the United States Navy. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, a Master of Professional Accountancy from UT Austin, and a Master of Science in Management from the United States Naval Postgraduate School.

These appointments require Senate confirmation.
