U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) addressed the Senate floor, emphasizing the need for Congress to continue advancing President Trump's America First agenda. This agenda focuses on securing the border, strengthening national defense, extending Trump-era tax cuts, and managing spending and national debt.

Cornyn highlighted that while much discussion has centered around legislative procedures like budget resolutions and reconciliation instructions, the primary goal is achieving tangible results. He criticized current border policies under the Biden administration, stating they have led to significant human and drug trafficking issues affecting Texas and the nation.

"Now it’s up to us to right the ship by enacting President Trump’s border security agenda," Cornyn asserted.

He warned of potential tax increases if Congress does not extend Trump's tax cuts. According to Cornyn, a family of four earning approximately $80,000 could face a $1,700 annual tax hike if these provisions expire.

Cornyn also stressed the importance of controlling spending and debt to address inflation concerns attributed to what he described as reckless spending by President Biden and Washington Democrats.

Attributing recent electoral mandates from November 5th as support for Trump's policies, Cornyn stated: "What matters is that it is President Trump’s agenda that we are implementing."

The senator concluded with a call for action to secure borders, bolster defense, prevent middle-class tax hikes, and manage national debt effectively.
