Governor Greg Abbott released a statement in response to President Donald Trump's recent joint address of Congress. The governor praised the president for what he described as significant achievements during his initial weeks in office.
"Tonight, President Donald Trump laid out the bold and historic accomplishments that he and his Administration achieved in less than two months," said Abbott. He noted that since taking office, President Trump has moved quickly to fulfill promises made to Americans by reducing government bureaucracy and attracting new investments leading to a manufacturing revival in the United States.
Abbott also highlighted the administration's efforts on immigration, stating, "His Administration has cracked down on the unprecedented illegal immigration crisis created by former President Joe Biden." According to Abbott, these actions have resulted in reduced illegal border crossings not seen in decades.
The governor expressed his intention to continue collaborating with federal authorities on border security initiatives. "Texas will continue to partner with the Trump Administration in their border and homeland security operations to arrest, detain, and deport illegal immigrants," he affirmed.
Abbott concluded by endorsing Trump's future plans: "President Trump’s vision for the next four years is clear, and I look forward to working with him to renew the American Dream."
