The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) recently conducted a traffic stop in Webb County, resulting in the seizure of more than 198 pounds of marijuana. The operation was part of Operation Lone Star (OLS), a collaborative effort involving DPS's Special Operations Group (SOG) and Criminal Investigations Division (CID).

The incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, when a DPS Trooper stopped a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of Santa Isabel Avenue and Burnside Street in Laredo. Upon searching the vehicle, the trooper found eight plastic-wrapped bundles of marijuana hidden in the rear seats. The seized marijuana is estimated to have a street value of $60,000.
