U.S. Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz and Senator Jerry Moran have announced plans to host a bipartisan briefing with key federal officials. This follows a recent briefing they received from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In a joint statement, Cruz and Moran expressed gratitude for the emergency personnel involved in recovery efforts after a tragic accident. "We are grateful for the emergency personnel who are working tirelessly to aid in the recovery efforts following this heartbreaking tragedy. Our prayers are with the people of Kansas and all who have lost a loved one in this accident."
The senators emphasized that it is too early to determine the cause of the accident but assured that information gathering will continue. "Today, we hosted a briefing with the FAA and NTSB," they stated. They added, "It is too early to draw conclusions on the cause of this accident, but we will continue to actively gather information and will allow the NTSB to conduct a thorough investigation and determine the probable cause in a timely manner."
Cruz and Moran plan to hold a bipartisan member-level briefing for all Senate Commerce Committee members soon. This session aims to provide insights from federal officials about their preliminary findings related to the incident.
