Enrollment Analysis: African American students comprised 8.6% of University of Texas at Austin High School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 71 African American students enrolled in University of Texas at Austin High School District in the 2022-23 school year, 51.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that University of Texas at Austin High School District welcomed 823 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 8.6% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

University of Texas at Austin High School District roughly covers schools within Travis County and has a main office in Austin.

University of Texas at Austin High School was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 71 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
