Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Texas County And District Retirement System Board Of Trustees

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Ronald “Ronnie” Keister and reappointed Susan Fletcher and Mary Louise Nicholson to the Texas County and District Retirement System Board of Trustees for terms set to expire on December 31, 2029. The Board exists to provide Texas County and district employees with retirement, disability, and survivor benefits.

Ronald “Ronnie” Keister, the Lubbock County tax assessor/collector, has been serving in this role since 2009. Keister, a member and former president of the Tax Assessor Collector Association of Texas, is also actively involved in his community as a booster club volunteer for Trinity Christian School, deacon for Trinity Church, and member of the Lubbock Lions Club. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Lubbock Christian University.

Susan Fletcher, the Commissioner of Precinct 1 in Collin County since 2014, has been reappointed to the Board. Fletcher's extensive experience includes serving on various committees and boards, such as the Texas Conference of Urban Counties Executive Board and Collin County’s Investment Committee. She is a graduate of the Commissioners Court Leadership Academy and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Interior Design from the University of North Texas.

Mary Louise Nicholson, the Tarrant County Clerk since 2011, has also been reappointed to the Board. Nicholson, who currently serves as the chair, is involved in legislative activities and holds positions in various associations such as the County and District Clerks’ Association of Texas and the Tarrant County Bail Bond Board. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at Arlington.

The appointments and reappointments by Governor Abbott ensure the continuity and expertise necessary for the Texas County and District Retirement System Board of Trustees to fulfill its crucial role in providing retirement, disability, and survivor benefits to county and district employees in the state.
