Governor Greg Abbott has announced the establishment of a new Braven Environmental facility in Texarkana. This project is part of the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. Braven Environmental focuses on recycling waste plastics and will invest over $145 million in this advanced recycling facility.
"Texas is where today’s products are made using tomorrow’s technologies," said Governor Abbott. He emphasized that Braven's investment signifies a substantial commitment to Bowie County and Texas as a whole. The JETI program aims to attract business investments and create jobs across the state.
Senator Bryan Hughes highlighted Texas's reputation for innovation and economic opportunity with this project. "This project will strengthen our local economy and advance sustainability with high-quality jobs and cutting-edge technology," he stated.
Representative Gary VanDeaver expressed enthusiasm about Braven Environmental being approved as a JETI project in House District 1 at the TexAmericas Center. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts of various entities in Northeast Texas that contributed to attracting Braven.
Braven Environmental CEO Jim Simon noted the importance of support from state and local governments in their decision-making process for site selection. "We deeply appreciate the strong support we’ve received from the Governor’s Office of the great State of Texas, Hooks ISD, and the TexAmericas Center," he said.
The Hooks ISD Board of Trustees expressed excitement about partnering with Braven Environmental through the JETI program, anticipating job creation and economic growth within their community.
Scott Norton, Executive Director & CEO of TexAmericas Center, shared his enthusiasm for Braven's expansion under the JETI Act at TexAmericas Center. He emphasized that this development would enhance green energy sectors while creating quality job opportunities locally.
