Governor Greg Abbott has announced that JCB, Inc. will be constructing a new manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas. This expansion project is expected to bring in over $265 million in capital investment and create more than 1,500 new jobs by 2028. JCB, a leading manufacturer of construction, agricultural, and industrial equipment, will receive a Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $5,684,350 and a Veteran Created Job Bonus of $42,000.

In a press release, Governor Abbott emphasized the business-friendly policies and economic climate that make Texas an attractive destination for companies. He stated, "Texas remains the best place in America for businesses to call home. We are proud to welcome JCB to San Antonio and look forward to the hundreds of good-paying jobs and millions in investment this new facility will bring to hardworking Texans in Bexar County."

Richard Fox-Marrs, the President and CEO of JCB North America, highlighted the company's growth and the increasing demand for their products in North America. He expressed excitement about the expansion, stating that it will bring JCB closer to its customers and allow them to capitalize on market opportunities.

Local officials also expressed enthusiasm about JCB's investment in San Antonio. Mayor Ron Nirenberg emphasized the company's commitment to reinvigorating American-made products and the positive impact it will have on the local economy. Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai highlighted the multiplier effects of manufacturing operations and the long-term benefits they bring to the region. Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, President and CEO of greater:SATX, called this investment the largest single job creation in the San Antonio region in over 20 years, emphasizing the career opportunities and economic mobility it will provide.
