For over a year, multiple law enforcement agencies have conducted investigations into the presence of suspected members and associates of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) in Texas. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) were among the federal, state, and local agencies involved in the investigation.

Recently, the FBI gathered intelligence suggesting a potential meeting of suspected TdA members or associates in Hays County. In response, an operation was initiated early Tuesday morning. The Hays County Sheriff's Office and DPS, in coordination with the FBI, ICE, and Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement Removal Operations, confirmed the need for a search warrant for a specific residence in Hays County.

The DPS Special Response Team executed the search warrant, leading to the apprehension of more than 40 individuals, including minors, at or near the location. Additionally, narcotics were seized during the operation.

Prosecutors at the state and federal levels will now assess the evidence collected to determine appropriate charges.
