Governor Abbott appoints Aliseda to OneStar National Service Commission

Governor Greg Abbott has announced the appointment of Ernest Aliseda to the OneStar National Service Commission. Aliseda's term will last until March 15, 2028. The Commission's role includes promoting volunteerism across Texas and supervising the state's administration of AmeriCorps programs.

Aliseda, based in McAllen, holds several distinguished positions. He is currently the general counsel for DHR Health and serves as a municipal judge for the City of McAllen. Additionally, he is involved as a Flotilla Commander with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and is a board member of Senator Ted Cruz’s U.S. Military Academy Selection Board. His participation extends to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics Director’s Council and he is also part of the Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen Advisory Council.

Aliseda's past professional roles include serving as a state district judge and as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army. His educational background features a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center, and a Master of Laws in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
