Chip Roy advocates repealing FACE Act and terminating U.S. Department of Education

Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 21st district, has recently made several announcements via social media regarding legislative actions and proposals. His press office has shared updates on Twitter about efforts to repeal certain federal laws and terminate government departments.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy's press office tweeted about the introduction of bills by Rep. Roy and Sen. Mike Lee aimed at repealing the FACE Act: "It's time to REPEAL the FACE Act. @TheElizMitchell: “Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, have introduced bills in the House and Senate to repeal the FACE Act."

Later that day, a brief update was posted with a link for more information: "MORE: https://t.co/DVtPZvr9y4".

Additionally, another tweet from March 20 highlighted Rep. Roy's support for HR 899 alongside Rep. Thomas Massie: "A VICTORY for students, teachers, and parents. A LOSS for union bosses and bureaucrats. Rep. Roy was proud to join @RepThomasMassie on the reintroduction of HR 899 in January, which would PERMANENTLY TERMINATE the U.S. Department of Education."
