Governor Greg Abbott and First Lady Cecilia Abbott hosted the Taoiseach of Ireland, Micheál Martin, and his wife, Mary Martin, at the Governor’s Mansion in Austin. The meeting focused on strengthening economic ties between Texas and Ireland.

Both leaders exchanged ideas on how Texas’ comprehensive energy strategy could support Ireland's energy requirements. Governor Abbott pointed out Texas' status as a leading exporter of liquified natural gas (LNG) and stressed ongoing collaboration with Ireland in the energy sector.
