In a tweet posted at 18:27 UTC, Rep. Roy criticized certain members of the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland. He stated during an appearance at Heritage that "The radical progressives that were at the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland, including Kristen Clark, were targeting pro lifers intentionally, purposely and with the highest of charges by looping in conspiracy into it. They did it on purpose."
Later that day at 19:02 UTC, Rep. Roy addressed immigration enforcement concerns related to an individual released from ICE custody under President Biden's administration. He mentioned that this person was "WANTED for a January 2025 sexual assault charge in Bexar County."
