U.S. Senator John Cornyn has expressed his condolences following the death of U.S. Representative Sylvester Turner. In a statement released on March 5, 2025, Cornyn acknowledged Turner's dedication to serving Texas throughout his career.
"Sandy and I are saddened to hear of the passing of our friend, Representative Sylvester Turner," stated Senator Cornyn. He further noted that despite their ideological differences, he felt honored to have collaborated with Turner on issues such as supporting law enforcement and survivors of abuse.
Cornyn encouraged Texans to join him and his wife Sandy in praying for Turner's family during this difficult time.
