The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a significant drug seizure during a traffic stop in Oldham County. On February 25, at approximately 2:45 p.m., a DPS Trooper pulled over a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica traveling east on Interstate 40 near Vega for a traffic violation.

During the stop, the driver exhibited signs of nervousness, and there was an apparent smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. This prompted the deployment of DPS K-9 Tex around the car. The canine alerted officers to several cardboard boxes located in the rear of the vehicle.

Upon inspection, more than 5,700 THC vape cartridges were discovered along with 30 jars of THC butter and 16 jars of green marijuana. These findings amounted to over 25 pounds of THC oil, more than four pounds of THC butter, and one pound of green marijuana. According to reports, these substances were being transported from New Mexico to Texas.
