The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has placed Carlos Jose Ayala Morales on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List. Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest, with all tips remaining anonymous.
Ayala Morales, 43, a convicted sex offender from Houston, is wanted in Harris County for attempted indecency with a child by sexual contact. His criminal record includes a 2000 conviction for burglary and multiple offenses in 2018 related to indecency with children. He was released from confinement in 2024 after serving concurrent sentences.
Ayala Morales is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds, with tattoos on various parts of his body.
Texas Crime Stoppers offers rewards funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office for tips that lead to arrests of individuals on the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists. So far this year, nine individuals have been apprehended through these efforts, resulting in $15,000 paid out in rewards.
To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters must submit information using designated methods and will receive a tip number instead of using their name. DPS collaborates with local law enforcement agencies to choose fugitives for the list. The current list can be accessed online.
