The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced the capture of two individuals from Texas' 10 Most Wanted list. Jrdon Mykel Joe, a fugitive, was apprehended on January 28 in Houston, while Marcos Christopher Alonzo, a wanted sex offender, was arrested on January 18 in Dallas. Both arrests were facilitated by tips to Crime Stoppers, which will reward informants for their assistance.
Jrdon Mykel Joe, aged 23, was detained following efforts by multiple agencies including DPS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force. He had been sought for murder in Harris County since August 2024 after allegedly shooting a man on July 12, 2024. Joe's criminal background includes previous drug and violent offense charges.
Marcos Christopher Alonzo, aged 47, was captured with help from the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and Hutchins Police Department. He had been wanted since February 2023 due to non-compliance with sex offender registration requirements. In 2005, Alonzo was convicted of indecency with a child by contact and served five years in prison. He faced another conviction in 2011 for failing to register as a sex offender.
Texas Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division for information leading to arrests of those on Texas' Most Wanted lists. So far this year, six individuals have been arrested through these efforts with $10,000 awarded for tip-based captures.
