U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are currently accepting applications for federal judicial positions in Texas's Northern, Southern, and Western Districts. These positions are located in Dallas, Houston, McAllen, Austin, and Waco. The Senators are also looking to fill U.S. Attorney and U.S. Marshal vacancies across the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas.

Senator Cornyn highlighted the importance of selecting qualified individuals for these roles: “As a former judge and Attorney General of Texas, I know firsthand how critical it is for our state to have the best and brightest jurists sitting on the federal bench and working to uphold the rule of law,” he stated.

Senator Cruz emphasized his role in selecting candidates: “Selecting lawyers to serve as federal judges is one of the most important duties I have as a U.S. Senator,” he said. “Texans deserve principled, unwavering leaders who will defend the Constitution, honor the rule of law, and serve with integrity.”

To facilitate this process, Senators Cornyn and Cruz have formed the Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee (FJEC), a bipartisan group composed of leading attorneys from Texas tasked with reviewing applications.

Qualified candidates interested in these positions should submit their resumes along with completed questionnaires by March 3, 2025. Due to security procedures involving Congressional mail that may cause delays, email submissions are recommended. Submitted materials will be evaluated by FJEC before selected applicants are invited for interviews.
