U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas expressed his support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has been nominated by President-Elect Trump to serve as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Following a meeting with Kennedy, Cornyn stated, "Look forward to working with him, and I intend to support his nomination."

Cornyn emphasized the legitimacy of Trump's election victory and his right to appoint members of his cabinet. He remarked, "President Trump won this election decisively. He’s entitled to his team." Furthermore, he criticized efforts by Democrats that might hinder the confirmation process, saying, "Democrats are not entitled to sabotage this President by denying him his cabinet, and I intend to do everything I can to see that they are speedily confirmed."

Senator Cornyn is an influential member of several Senate committees including Finance, Judiciary, Intelligence, Foreign Relations, and Budget.
