Rep. Chip Roy, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 21st district, has expressed his views on immigration policies through a series of tweets. Roy, who succeeded Lamar Smith in 2019, has been vocal about issues such as birthright citizenship and immigration opportunities in the United States.

On December 12, 2024, Rep. Chip Roy highlighted concerns regarding birthright citizenship. He stated "We've had [birthright citizenship] as being a problem for a long time." Additionally, he proposed that "You should have to be the child of American citizens to get citizenship by being born and then we otherwise naturalize ... we need to make sure that's the law going forward".

In another tweet posted on December 13, 2024, Rep. Chip Roy addressed the issue of immigration visas in the United States. He mentioned “Every year, the US issues 1.1M green cards, 1M guest worker visas, & 1.1M foreign student visas.” He emphasized that America already provides numerous opportunities for immigrants and suggested that "The federal gov should be focused on securing the border instead of increasing work visas & green cards".

On the same day, he also shared a link to an article from RMConservative via Twitter with an invitation to read it: "Read the full article from @RMConservative here"
