Chip Roy demands accountability from DHS and DoS on deportation cooperation

Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district, has recently made several statements through his press office on social media regarding immigration and border security issues.

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Roy called for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of State (DoS) to provide an account of countries that refuse or delay the return of their deported citizens. He stated that "Afghanistan, Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela, India, China, & others are on that list" and emphasized that mass deportation cannot fully occur until cooperation from these countries is secured.

Later on December 11th, Rep. Roy announced his appearance on CBS News with a post saying "TUNE IN NOW: Rep. Roy joins @CBSNews". The tweet was intended to draw attention to his live participation in a news segment.

On December 12th, Rep. Roy expressed gratitude towards Border Patrol agents by acknowledging their service over the past century. He stated "The brave men and women of the Border Patrol have honorably served our nation for 100 years", recognizing their efforts in securing borders and upholding national sovereignty.
