Chip Roy discusses civil rights, Syrian conflict and immigration in recent tweets

Rep. Chip Roy Press Office, representing Texas' 21st district, shared a series of tweets on December 9, 2024, covering various topics from civil rights to immigration and international relations.

In the first tweet at 18:20 UTC, Rep. Roy expressed support for Daniel Penny, stating "Daniel Penny is VINDICATED 'The DOJ under President Trump should be looking into the civil rights abuses against Daniel Penny.' 'I want our DOJ to hold New York accountable – you can’t do this to American heroes.'" The post included a reference to his appearance on Fox Business with Team Cavuto.

Later that day at 18:42 UTC, Rep. Roy commented on the situation in Syria by attributing it to current administrative policies. He noted "The chaos [in Syria] is a direct result of this administration's fecklessness." "But the world is now adjusting to the fact that President Trump is coming back into power."

In another tweet posted at 22:05 UTC, Rep. Roy addressed employment statistics related to immigration. He remarked "The number of foreign-born workers employed increased by roughly 400,000 year-over-year in November, while 1,094,000 fewer native workers were employed" "Mass Illegal AND legal immigration leads to FEWER jobs and better wage opportunities for American workers".
