Enrollment Analysis: African American students comprised 2.5% of Valor Public Schools District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 55 African American students enrolled in Valor Public Schools District in the 2022-23 school year, 34.1% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Valor Public Schools District welcomed 2,158 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 2.5% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Valor Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Travis County and has a main office in Austin.

Among the two schools in Valor Public Schools District, Valor North Austin recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 24 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
