There were three Pacific Islander students enrolled in Nyos Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Nyos Charter School District welcomed 1,624 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Nyos Charter School District roughly covers schools within Travis County and has a main office in Austin.

Nyos - Magnolia McCullough Campus was the only school in the district which enrolled Pacific Islander students, welcoming three students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
