WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) along with Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and Angus King (I-Maine) successfully introduced a bipartisan resolution in the U.S. Senate, designating April 20th through April 28th as National Parks Week for 2024. The resolution, which was passed unanimously, aims to encourage people from all over the country to visit, experience, recreate in, and support America’s cherished national parks.
Following the passage of the resolution, Sen. Cruz expressed his pride and appreciation for America's natural wonders, stating, "America is home to some of the most beautiful natural treasures on earth, like the Guadalupe Mountains in Texas, which has the highest peak in the Lone Star State. I’m proud to join my colleagues in celebrating our incredible national parks."
Sen. Cruz was supported by 64 Senate colleagues from both sides of the aisle in introducing this legislation, emphasizing the bipartisan nature of the initiative.
The resolution serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and appreciating the diverse landscapes and ecosystems found within the national parks across the United States. It highlights the significance of these protected areas as valuable resources for both recreational enjoyment and conservation purposes.
