Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the Texas National Guard have been making significant strides in securing the border and cracking down on criminal activities. Since the inception of Operation Lone Star, the collaborative effort has resulted in the apprehension of over 507,200 illegal immigrants and more than 41,500 criminal arrests, with over 36,900 felony charges. Additionally, Texas law enforcement has seized a substantial amount of fentanyl, with over 471 million lethal doses confiscated during border missions.

The operation has also seen the transportation of thousands of migrants to various cities across the United States, with Governor Abbott emphasizing the necessity of these actions to combat the repercussions of open border policies. Governor Abbott stated, "Every individual who is apprehended or arrested and every ounce of drugs seized would have otherwise made their way into communities across Texas and the nation due to President Joe Biden’s open border policies."

Recent highlights from Operation Lone Star include Governor Abbott's reaffirmation that Texas will arrest illegal immigrants who tamper with the razor wire barrier and the continuous construction of the border wall in Zapata County. Furthermore, the Texas National Guard soldiers have been reinforcing barriers in El Paso to prevent illegal entries.

In separate incidents, DPS troopers have made arrests related to human smuggling and criminal activities. From arresting human smugglers in the Rio Grande Valley to apprehending a career criminal illegally in the country, the efforts to combat illegal activities at the border remain relentless.

Moreover, National Guardsmen from multiple states have been arriving in Texas to support the border mission, aiding in building and fortifying barriers to deter illegal crossings along the Texas-Mexico border.

The combined efforts of Governor Abbott, law enforcement agencies, and the National Guard showcase a determined stance against criminal elements and illegal activities along the border, as Operation Lone Star continues to target violent criminals and human smugglers.
