This success comes after Houston-based Enterprise Products’ Sea Port Oil Terminal (SPOT) received a Deepwater Port License from the Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (MARAD), following Sen. Cruz's investigation into the delays in licensing decisions for deepwater ports.

Sen. Cruz's proactive approach in requesting timelines for pending deepwater port licenses and demanding updates on the applications' progress has led to positive outcomes for the industry. The recent granting of the license to SPOT, located offshore of Brazoria Country in the Gulf of Mexico, is set to significantly boost Texas's energy sector by enabling the export of two million barrels per day.
