Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to ready state emergency response resources ahead of a severe storm system moving across the state. The Governor emphasized the state's readiness to deploy necessary resources and assist local officials in ensuring community safety. Abbott urged Texans in at-risk areas to take safety precautions, monitor weather conditions, and follow guidance from authorities to safeguard themselves and their families.

The National Weather Service has warned of a marginal to enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms across multiple regions of Texas, with potential threats including large hail, damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and possible tornadoes. In response to the impending severe weather, TDEM has placed various state emergency response resources on standby for deployment.

Governor Abbott expressed gratitude towards the dedicated emergency response personnel who are prepared to protect communities during the storms. He acknowledged their hard work and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Texans.

Texans are advised to prepare for severe weather by staying informed through local weather reports, assembling emergency supplies, and following instructions from local officials. Resources such as DriveTexas.org and TexasFlood.org are available for real-time road conditions and flood tracking information, respectively. Additional safety tips for severe storms can be accessed on TexasReady.gov.

In addition to the severe weather concerns, elevated to critical wildfire risks persist in certain areas of Texas. State resources are positioned strategically to support local wildfire response efforts if necessary. Residents are urged to comply with guidance from local authorities, avoid activities that could ignite fires, and maintain easy access to emergency supplies in case of need.
