Governor Greg Abbott expressed his pride as he celebrated Texas as the nation's leading state in job creation. Following the release of February employment numbers, which showed a surge in job opportunities, Abbott highlighted Texas's remarkable performance in the job market.

"Texas continues to dominate the nation in job creation because we've built a framework that allows free enterprise to flourish and hardworking Texans to succeed," Governor Abbott stated proudly.

According to the February employment data released by the Texas Workforce Commission and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas set several new records in the job market. The state reached a new high with the largest labor force ever in its history, totaling 15,169,200. Additionally, Texas achieved new highs for the number of Texans working, including self-employed individuals, reaching 14,578,700. The total number of jobs in Texas also reached a new peak at 14,103,700 after adding 49,800 non-farm jobs in February, the highest in the nation.

Furthermore, Texas added a staggering 291,400 jobs from February 2023 to February 2024, marking the most significant job growth in the nation. The state has experienced job growth for 44 of the last 46 months, solidifying its position as a job creation powerhouse.
