Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To Humanities Texas

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Stacey Neal Combest, Elizabeth Johnson, and Ellen K. Ramsey to Humanities Texas for terms set to expire on December 31, 2025. The organization, as the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, is dedicated to conducting and supporting public programs in various humanities disciplines, as stated by Humanities Texas.

According to Humanities Texas, the organization plays a crucial role in strengthening Texas communities by fostering the knowledge and judgment necessary for a representative democracy. Stacey Neal Combest, one of the reappointed members, has a background in special education funding, as noted by Combest herself.

Elizabeth Johnson, another reappointee, brings her experience as a retired educator and board member to Humanities Texas. Johnson, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, is also affiliated with the Family Limited Partnership of Progresso International Bridge Company.

Ellen K. Ramsey, the third individual reappointed by Governor Abbott, serves as the executive director of the Permian Road Safety Coalition and is involved in various civic activities. Ramsey's affiliations include the Midland Chamber of Commerce and the Midland Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, as well as being a partner at Ramsey Petroleum, L.P.

The reappointment of these individuals to Humanities Texas highlights the commitment of Governor Abbott to maintaining a diverse and experienced leadership team within the organization.
