Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Ana Estevez as the presiding judge of the Ninth Administrative Judicial Region for a term set to expire four years from the date of qualification.

Estevez, who hails from Amarillo, is currently the judge of the 251st Judicial District Court of Potter and Randall counties. She has been serving as the presiding judge of the Ninth Administrative Judicial Region since 2020.

Estevez's dedication to the legal field is evident through her involvement in various committees and associations. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee, and Amarillo Area Bar Association. Additionally, she is part of the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Oversight Committee and is a sustaining life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Estevez's contributions extend to her previous roles in committees such as the Administration of Rules of Evidence Committee and the Crime Victims' Institute Advisory Council.

Moreover, Estevez is actively engaged in community service and has been associated with organizations like the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health Community Advisory Committee, Amarillo Zoo friends, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Amarillo, and the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce.

Estevez's educational background is impressive, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Education in Education and Curriculum from Texas A&M University. She later obtained a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.
