On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a van and a motorcycle in the 8600 block of FM-2222. The motorcyclist died on the scene. The driver of the van remained on the scene and was cooperative.
This incident is being investigated as Austin's 44th fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 44 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, 52 fatal crashes resulted in 53 deaths.
