APD Detectives Release New Details in Connection to a Roadway Incident

Location:  6200 block of S IH 35 SB

 

UPDATE: APD Detectives release the description of the other individual involved and the vehicle he was driving. The incident happened on the southbound lanes of the 6200 block of S IH 35.

 

The other individual involved is described as:

•    Possibly White or Hispanic

•    Male

 

The vehicle he was in is described as:

•    Sedan

•    Brown or tan in color

 

The Department asks for the community’s assistance locating and identifying anyone with knowledge concerning this incident. PREVIOUSLY RELEASED: 

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at approximately 12:18 a.m., Austin Police Officers responded to a call for service to assist the Travis County Sheriff’s Office in the 6200 block of S IH 35 SVRD SB. Initial information indicates an off-duty Travis County Deputy was involved in an altercation in his personal vehicle with another driver while traveling south on the S IH 35 proper. During this incident, a weapon or weapons were discharged. No injuries were reported due to the incident. This information is preliminary, and it is very early in the investigation.

 

APD’s Special Investigation Unit, in conjunction with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, will conduct a criminal investigation into the incident. Please contact the Travis County Sheriff’s Office for further information regarding the deputy.
