On Saturday, June 17, 2023, at approximately 11:56 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a motorcycle and a van in the 4700 block of East William Cannon Drive. The motorcyclist died on the scene. The van's driver remained on the scene, was cooperative, and was not impaired.
This incident is being investigated as Austin's 46th fatal crash of 2023, resulting in 46 fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, 53 fatal crashes resulted in 54 deaths.
