One of Austin's main priorities has been providing affordable housing in the city.

As a part of this effort, the Housing and Planning Department in Austin will accept 2021 applications for developers seeking resolutions of support for LIHTCs (Low Income Housing Tax Credits). These tax credits are offered as incentives for developers to build housing that is low-cost for the city's population.

However, to gain them, developers must obtain a resolution of support from the City Council. These applications are now open. Developers must apply on the Affordable Housing Development Funding websites

Those that are seeking to apply should know that the deadline for application is Dec. 16.
