Austin-area nonprofits are able to once again apply to receive up to $20,000 in funding through the City of Austin's Non-Profit Relief Grant, after the city recently reopened and changed the funding eligibility requirements.
According to a Sept. 15 press release from the City of Austin, the City's Economic Development Department has reopened its $6.35 million available in grant funding for area nonprofits suffering economic losses to due the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We have revised eligibility based on lessons learned and review of applications from the first round to ensure grant guidelines accommodate more successful applications," Acting Director for the City of Austin Economic Development Department Sylnovia Holt-Rabb said. "The reopening of the Austin Non-Profit Relief Grant will ensure the $6.35 million that Mayor and City Council allocated will support our local non-profit organizations whom are critical to the recovery of our community."
The fund reopened on Sept. 21 with an estimated $2.4 million available.
