The Austin Police Department (APD) Robbery Unit requests the community's help identifying a suspect involved in a bank robbery on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at approximately 12:20 p.m. The robbery happened at the A + Federal Credit Union at 6420 E Highway 290.
On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at approximately 11:14 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 2100 block of East Riverside Drive near Raising Canes. Officers at the scene located the victim, a man, lying on the road next to the median. The victim was taken to a hospital and received medical care for severe injuries. The victim has been released.
On Monday, June 19, 2023, at approximately 3:19 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a stabbing in the 1000 block of West Rundberg Lane. Officers arrived and were directed by witnesses to a homeless camp, where they located and detained Joshua Daniel. Officers found a man who died from several stab wounds a few feet from Daniel.
The Austin Police Department (APD) wants to remind the public that officers will be on patrol and enforcing a DWI Enforcement Initiative and an Extended No Refusal Period that will coincide with the upcoming Independence Day holiday season. The DWI Enforcement will begin on June 23rd and continue each night thru July 9th. Additionally, the Extended No Refusal period will be in effect from June 29th thru July 9th.
