Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving the U.S. Congress and representing Texas' 21st district, took to social media on April 10, 2025, to voice his stance on several pressing issues. A focus of Roy's remarks was his proposed legislation and concerns regarding immigration enforcement.

In a post shared at 16:33:51 UTC, Roy highlighted an article from Fox News regarding his legislative proposal. "The SAVE Act by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, would require voters to obtain proof of citizenship in person before they register for a federal election, and it would remove noncitizens from voter rolls."

Later, at 16:36:00 UTC, Roy addressed the issue of sanctuary jurisdictions ignoring immigration enforcement. "25,000 ICE detainers were IGNORED by SANCTUARY jurisdictions from Oct 2022 to Feb 2025. Local officials CHOSE to release criminal aliens, including convicted MURDERERS, instead of handing them over to ICE."

In another tweet at 16:40:14 UTC, Roy voiced his view on voter eligibility. "Rep. Roy: 'There's nothing controversial about saying that you should be able to ensure that only citizens vote.'"

Chip Roy, 50, born in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1972, resides in Austin and has served since 2019 after replacing Lamar Smith as a representative. He has a background in law, holding a degree from the University of Virginia and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin.
